BABY'S WEIGHT AT 7 MONTHS

From 6.7 to 10.1 kg for boys

From 6.3 to 9.5 kg for girls

Diversification of food continues at 7 months. New starchy foods can be introduced: bread, small pasta, semolina and rice.

BABY'S WEIGHT AT 8 MONTHS

From 7 to 10.5 kg for boys

From 8.5 to 10 kg for girls

At 8 months, cheese is introduced into the diversification of dairy products.

Vegetables and potatoes can now be given to eat in small pieces.

Meat and fish should be chopped at a rate of 4 teaspoons per day, or a third of a hard-boiled egg.

The age of 8 months is often considered ideal for babies to have two whole diversified meals per day, supplemented by two milk meals (breastfed or not). This is the time to gradually move from 6 meals per day to only 4 meals. Each of these 4 meals will then be more substantial to maintain sufficient nutritional intake.

Milk should represent an intake of approximately 500 mL per day. This is generally the age of the marked decrease in milk consumption by the well-diversified child. Read our article on diversifying baby's diet up to 1 year.
